Our Food

One of our main goals is to teach your child where their food comes from, what it takes to raise their food, and how amazing it is to invest their time and effort into creating their own food. Not only will your child get to pick what we grow in our own garden but they will also be involved in turning the food into a meal. At every meal and snack the class will help prepare the room to eat (cleaning up the classroom, setting the table and washing their hands) and then they will help prepare the food (washing the fruit and veggies, cutting up soft food) and then serving the whole class. We will also have cooking projects that incorporate math, cooperation, science and curiosity.

Any food that we do not produce ourself will come from the North Park Farmer's Market (Ms. Cassandra and her son walk there every Thursday after school if anyone who would like to us) and our CSA box. We will also get food from our local grocery stores to add to our meals. It is important for us to get as much organic and locally sorced food as much as possible.
